And so, the sambal adventure begins! As of Tuesday October 24th, work has officially begun on developing my sambal sauce for stores. Here is a snippet of Day 1, as I went to meet with a food technologist to discuss turning my recipe into an industrial formula.
The road to manufacturing promises to be a very long and arduous one, and it will be many months (and possibly even years!) before you see Sam Tan's Kitchen products on supermarket shelves, but I hope you are as excited and curious as I am to see how it all turns out!
The good news is, the lovely filmmaker and fellow Malaysian Cheyenne Tan (no relation, at least as far as we know) will be capturing every moment. So succeed or fail, at least we all get a documentary to watch!
